Project Description
An interdisciplinary team of W&M students and faculty are documenting the perspectives of farmers across Virginia about the barriers and opportunities to scale regenerative agriculture.
This project, led by the Institute for Integrative Conservation (IIC), seeks to create an actionable roadmap to broaden the adoption of regenerative agriculture in the eastern United States, by documenting the perspectives of diverse agricultural communities across Virginia. Using an integrative conservation framework, the IIC will convene interdisciplinary teams (inside and outside of W&M) of actors spanning the economic, policy, and conservation dimensions of agriculture to identify the key levers of change essential for scaling regenerative agricultural practices that balance environmental conservation, healthy food systems, and farmer livelihoods.
