Institutional Accreditation & Effectiveness
The Office of Institutional Accreditation & Effectiveness (IAE), a division of the Office of the Provost, oversees compliance with regional accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and academic program and organizational change policies of the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV). As part of these responsibilities, IAE manages a rigorous academic assessment program and W&M’s institutional change process. IAE supports, coordinates, and advances evidence-based planning and decision-making that reinforce the university's mission and enhances the high quality of a W&M education.
