Road to Richmond

Each year, the President’s Office and the Office of Government Relations sponsor a trip to Richmond during the legislative session, during which students have the opportunity to talk with members of the Virginia General Assembly, their staff and representatives of the Governor’s Office.Students walk from the W&M Richmond Office to the Capitol to meet with legislators.

This outing is a valuable experience to make connections and get more involved in state politics by talking to elected officials about issues that truly matter to William & Mary. Students serve as vital advocates on issues impacting higher education, such as faculty and staff raises, increasing needs-based financial aid, and more.
