The Office of Government & External Affairs:

Facilitates communication between the university community, elected officials, and government entities at the local, state and federal levels
Cultivates relationships with government officials to further understanding of issues important to higher education and support for William and Mary's initiatives
Coordinates campus visits by government officials to provide information regarding the university's research, facilities and programs
Monitors and tracks legislative issues and activities in Richmond, Hampton Roads, and Washington, D.C.
Communicates information to university officials and the community on significant state and legislative matters
Educates the university community about state relations and protocol in contacting government officials
