Service & Philanthropy
Service is one of the four pillars of the fraternity and sorority community at William & Mary. Our chapters are dedicated to serving the local community and sharing a philanthropic impact with various partners. We believe that service, the act of giving our time and talent to the support of others, is an essential way to build community within and among the greater Williamsburg community. It is also our belief that, as members, we should use our networks as an opportunity to support meaningful causes through philanthropic donations of money or goods.
If you are looking for service opportunities or are a chapter leader looking to track your chapter’s service hours, please visit GivePulse, W&M’s online platform that connects campus and community by sharing opportunities, facilitating new partnerships, and offering resources to students, community organizations, staff and faculty. FSL Service Partner: The Arc of Greater Williamsburg
Fraternity & Sorority Life is proud of our more than 25-year relationship with The Arc of Greater Williamsburg. The Arc serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through activities and advocacy. FSL hosts two staple events annually for Arc Clients — the Spring Carnival and the Fall Dance. You can learn more about these programs on our Events page. Learn more about The Arc of Greater Williamsburg.
Chapter Philanthropy Partners
Each chapter identifies their own philanthropy partner(s), and they often align with their inter/national organization and/or the organization’s values. We encourage interested students to ask all chapters about their philanthropy events, partners, and what that means to them.
Below is a list of some philanthropic partners in our community. This list is not exhaustive. If you're curious about specific chapters' philanthropy partners, we encourage you to ask them directly.
