Chapter Overview & History
For more than one hundred years, the Gamma Kappa Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma has been as a pillar of scholarship, service, and character at William & Mary. Today, Kappas can be found in every corner of campus, whether playing a D1 sport or singing at a Wren 10, and across the globe, whether in the Global Scholars Program, a Freeman Fellow, or a Fulbright Scholar. Beyond the impact that Kappas make in their careers and in the classroom, Kappas have an impact on each other. Kappa sisterhood is celebrated through events and programming, but it's even more so seen in the spotaneous movie nights at the chapter house, cheering each other on in performances or races, and in family lines that connect every class.
Internationally, Kappa Kappa Gamma supports mental health organizations, and W&M Kappa
embodies this mission both philanthropically and philosophically. Philanthropy events like Kappa Karaoke and the Sapphire Ball engage the greater W&M community in support of mental health organizations -- chosen by the chapter -- and the KKG foundation, which provides scholarships and free online therapy to Kappas worldwide. Kappa has solidified a reputation at William & Mary as an organization of dedicated, intelligent, and lively women. But, there is no one Kappa: each member defines this sisterhood through her own unique insights and interests, making the chapter the home that it is for generations of women.

Member Testimonials
"Kappa Kappa Gamma has truly shaped my experience here at William & Mary. I remember leaving the Kappa porch on preference night knowing exactly where I was meant to be. Kappa has become my home away from home. It is filled with laughter, joy, hope, and love. There is no place where I feel more like myself than when I am surrounded by the goofballs that I get to call my sisters. These girls are seriously the funniest and kindest people you will ever meet. My housemates, my fam line, and my best friends are all here, and I am so grateful that Kappa brought us together.Being a part of the Leadership Team was always something that I wanted to do, and it hasbeen nothing short of an incredible experience. From Events Director to President, my Kappa sisters have been the greatest mentors to me and I hope to guide the future of Kappa in the best way I can. I am so proud of the values that Kappa upholds and the outstanding women who represent this chapter. It is simply my favorite place to be with the people I love the most." - Regan Macak '26
"Growing up with older sisters, I knew I wanted to have the same support system and friendship coming into college, so going through recruitment was a no brainer. I remember feeling so seen and connected to Kappa during rush, and knew that no matter what throughout my time in college I’d always be able to laugh with and be supported by such incredible women. Getting my big Adelia and my g-big Kelsey made such a huge difference in my experience and meeting them was like finding a part of myself that I didn’t know was missing. They’ve taught me so much about what it means to be a friend and a better person that I can’t imagine college or my life without them. Kappa’s brought me lifelong friends, future housemates, and role models and I’m so eternally grateful. Joining this chapter is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!!!" - Amanda Nickles '28
