W&M Book Advance

A Book Advance permits eligible students with an account overpayment or anticipated financial aid credit balance to be refunded those funds for books and supplies at the campus bookstore up to two weeks before the first day of classes.

Please make sure your student account has credit available and that you have signed up for direct deposit following the Direct Deposit Instructions

The Bursar's Office will begin processing requests two weeks before the first day of class. The request will not be available after the first day of class as we begin refunding credit balances to students.

Book Advance Request

The Bursar's Office will review your request and if approved, will refund you the available funds. Once the refund is complete, a confirmation will be emailed. Please allow 24 to 48 hours for the request to refund to your preferred refund method; check or direct deposit.

The request may include excess funds from either an account overpayment or anticipated financial aid credit balance. By signing the Book Advance Request, you understand that this transfer is contingent on the availability of funds on your student account. You understand that any account overpayment, excess from federal Title IV or other student financial aid may be included in the requested refund and by signing the request you are authorizing the university to refund the requested approved amount to your personal bank account by ACH or by issued check and that the transaction is final.

For questions or information regarding the Book Advance Request, please contact Bursar@wm.edu.
