About Us

The Faculty Affairs & Development office is a campus hub supporting faculty work. The office supports the development of all faculty across their career span from onboarding to position advancement to retirement, provides professional development and training programs to enhance faculty skill sets for research and teaching, and promotes inclusive excellence along the faculty pipeline.

Faculty engagement occurs in various ways and different formats, from one-on-one consultations to open workshops. The office coordinates with others on campus to co-sponsor events that support faculty. The Studio for Teaching & Learning Innovation is part of the office and provides specialized programming to support faculty in the classroom. Research support occurs in programming offered by the Office of Research & Sponsored Programs.

Office Activity

The Mid-Level Academic Leader program and other workshops support faculty leaders' development. Empowering faculty as leaders on campus helps support the overarching university mission and recognizes the contributions faculty make through their innovative ideas.

The office interacts with the Faculty Assembly to assure faculty representation in decision-making and policies. The Faculty Handbook is a resource for guiding faculty policies and procedures on campus. As part of university efforts to diversify the faculty ranks, the office works with the Senior Advisor to the President to develop, implement and assess inclusive excellence programs and services related to faculty recruitment. A guiding principle of the office is faculty engagement and wellness to foster a positive academic culture.
