Student Tribe Card

Tribe Cards are issued at the beginning of your first year on campus, are non-transferable and can only be used by you. Cards are typically issued to new students enrolled full-time in a degree-seeking program during your Orientation Program. Online Students may be issued a card in person when visiting campus.

Before cards can be produced however, two crucial elements are required to help identify you as a William & Mary student. Both steps require an active W&M username and access to the GET Mobile app.

Before getting started, review the Photo Submission Guidelines to ensure your photo is acceptable.  A valid government issued photo identification is required to obtain your Tribe Card. The ID should display your name, birth date and expiration date. Forms of ID include U.S. Driver’s License or Learner’s Permit issued by a state DMV, U.S. Identification Card issued by a state DMV, U.S Permanent Resident card, Passport/Passport Card including the MRZ code (when submitting a foreign passport please include the U.S. Visa page including the MRZ code) or a U.S. Military ID card. Note: Driver’s License or Identification Card stamped “void” are unable to be accepted. Expired, damaged or unclear documents, trusted traveler cards and school IDs are not accepted.

Name Verification

In the GET Mobile app, select "William & Mary" and set up your account and mobile pin using your W&M username and password.

Confirm that the name displayed under the photo box matches the name that should be displayed on the Tribe Card. If a name is printed incorrectly on a card, replacement cards can be purchased for $23.  All purchases are non refundable.

If you have a Preferred/Chosen First Name listed in the Personal Information Questionnaire (PIQ) this is what will be listed on your Tribe Card. Your last name must match your government issued ID. Learn More.
