Who can get a visitor pass?
Visitor spaces are provided for individuals outside the university community who have legitimate business on campus. No vehicle which has, or should have, a decal is considered a visitor. Spaces reserved for "Visitors To" are intended for non-university affiliated individuals only. These spaces are enforced at all times. Passes to use these spaces may be obtained from the respective office visited. Visitor parking passes are available at $6.00 per day.
How do I get a visitor pass?
One day visitor parking passes are available for $6.00 per day from the Parking Services office. Visitors who arrive after Parking Services closes at 6:00 p.m. may obtain passes good until 8 a.m. the following day, from Campus Police. Vehicles with visitor passes may park in any faculty/staff or student space unless the area is reserved at all times.
Where can I park with a visitor pass?
Visitors with visitor passes may park in any faculty/staff or student spaces unless the area is reserved at all times. Visitor passes are not valid at metered or timed spaces. Faculty and staff at both campuses (main campus and VIMS) who have visitors coming to the campus should contact Parking Services for appropriate passes ahead of their arrival. Anyone coming to campus frequently is not considered a visitor and must purchase a decal to park on university property, or park in the Kaplan Arena lot and initiate a pay-by-phone session for the appropriate time and space used.
Passport Pay-by-phone Option
The university is running a pilot test program of the Passport pay-by-phone option in the Kaplan Arena lot and the Zable Stadium lot. This alternate parking option is only in effect during the evening hours Monday through Thursday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 am each day.
To establish a session, download the app, or go to ppprk.com, take note of the zone you parked in and follow the prompts, pay for the time you plan to be in the lot, and you're done. With the app, users can efficiently pay for parking sessions from their mobile devices, as well as monitor parking sessions, extend time remotely, view payment history, receive email receipts.
Passport provides reminders and allows you to extend your time from your phone or smart device. There is no need to return to your car. Due to online credit card processing fees the minimum session time starts at 2 hours of parking. For frequent visitors we recommend establishing an E-wallet session, this allows you to setup an account from which parking fees can be deducted as used; it is primarily designed to save you multiple transaction fees per session. Then just reload your wallet as needed.
Keep in Mind
Passes are required at all times to park on campus from Monday at 7:30 a.m. until Friday at 5 p.m.
Please observe all parking regulations when parking on campus. Any space reserved at all times may not be used and you may not park in no parking zones, fire lanes, handicapped spaces, service/vendor spaces, on grass or sidewalks.
