Monroe Scholar Panelists

Panelists: Sydney Bueno, Anne Hensley Young, Wengfay Ho, Samuel Li, Isabel Volden
Sydney Bueno Linn ’29 is a government major and mathematics minor from Brookline, Massachusetts. She spends her free time singing in an a cappella group, walking around Colonial Williamsburg and studying with friends. Her peer mentor, Anne Hensley, is also on this panel.
Anne Hensley Young ’28 is a government and theatre double major from Augusta, Georgia. She is a member of the Student Assembly, on the undergraduate advisory board for the Office of Conflict Resolution and Education and a resident assistant for Monroe Hall. Anne will make her Mainstage debut in Machinal later this month!
Wengfay Ho ’26 is a psychology and government double major from Washington, D.C. Through funding from the Monroe Scholars program, she worked in the Context, Development & Social Policy Lab at Georgetown University, investigating food security program participation and coparenting interventions. She hopes to bring this blend of developmental psychology and public policy into her career.
Samuel Li ’28 is a biology major and biochemistry minor from McLean, Virginia. His research explores protein modification pathways that allow yeast to survive oxidative and cellular stress. Outside the lab, he spends most of his time between Quiz Bowl and the Chinese Student Organization.
Isabel Volden ’28 is a coastal & marine sciences major from Earlysville, Virginia. She researches algae at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science to better understand evolution and ecology. Isabel also produces a comic strip and serves as an editor for The Flat Hat student newspaper.
