About Heather

Ms. Little has worked in cultural resource management in both the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. She worked for Environmental Design and Research in New York after completing her B.A. at SUNY Potsdam, and she interned with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and W&MCAR while finishing her M.A. at William & Mary. In 2024 she began working for W&MCAR and became a member of the senior staff in 2025. In addition to conducting and supervising fieldwork, she also assists with the analysis of historic artifacts in the lab. Some notable projects include working at the Arcola Quarters for the Enslaved in Loudon County and on the Bray School excavations on campus. Ms. Little is a historical archaeologist, with research interests in ceramics, foodways, and the lives of the enslaved.
