Bio
Melissa Ballenger's finance career of 30+ years spans global financial services, technology and public accounting. From 2020 to 2023, Ms. Ballenger was Chief Financial Officer of Mosaic, a financial technology platform for sustainable home improvements. From 2003 to 2019, Ms. Ballenger was a financial services executive, including Chief Financial Officer roles at the global public firms State Street (in EMEA), Santander and TD. She was Principal Accounting Officer and Controller at Mastercard, a global technology company in the payments industry. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Ms. Ballenger began her career as an Arthur Andersen auditor. She graduated summa cum laude from William & Mary, with a BBA–Accounting degree.
Ms. Ballenger is credentialed as a Certified Director by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). She has provided strategic advice to multiple Boards of Directors about critical corporate priorities. Her executive scope includes strategic/financial planning and execution, capital markets and treasury management, operational efficiency and risk management, and M&A. Her financial range includes leading organizations during periods of high growth in domestic and global markets, as well as managing organizations proactively through economic downturns.
Ms. Ballenger serves on the Board of Directors of ePlus inc., which offers transformative technology solutions and services, including artificial intelligence (AI), security, cloud and data center, networking and collaboration. Ms. Ballenger also serves on the Board of Trustees of The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company, which offers a comprehensive suite of competitive products and services to meet the unique needs of financial professionals and their clients, including life insurance, annuities, wealth management and institutional asset management. She formerly served on the Board of Trustees of the William & Mary School of Business Foundation and has served as Adjunct Professor at William & Mary.
