Major: {{https://www.wm.edu/majorsminors/economics/, Economics}}

Dan Draper has spent more than three decades shaping global finance, but at the heart of his work is a simple mission: leading with purpose. As CEO of S&P Dow Jones Indices — home to benchmarks like the S&P 500® and the Dow Jones Industrial Average — Dan leads the world’s largest index provider, offering tools that bring transparency, efficiency and accessibility to financial markets.

His career has spanned three continents, with leadership roles at firms including Goldman Sachs, UBS and Invesco. Today, he emphasizes the role of finance in serving not only shareholders but also society, embedding values like ethics, inclusion and common good into the industry. A 2017 Finance Leaders Fellow with the Aspen Institute, he continues to champion responsible leadership.

A William & Mary economics graduate, Dan credits the liberal arts with grounding his worldview and shaping his values-based approach to management. He remains connected to alma mater as a Boehly Center board advisor, helping prepare the next generation of principled financial leaders.
