David Rowe
Fulbright NATO Security Studies Scholar and Visiting Fellow,
German Marshall Fund

David M. Rowe is a Fulbright NATO Security Studies Scholar and Visiting Fellow at the German Marshall Fund in Brussels, Belgium. He is currently on sabbatical from Kenyon College, where he teaches international relations, comparative politics, and political economy. His research explores three major themes in international relations: the consequences of economic sanctions, the causes of World War I, and the foundations of political and international order. In 2009, he held the Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Innsbruck. Other awards include a SSRC-MacArthur Foundation Fellowship in International Peace and Security and grants from the National Science Foundation, the Richard D. Irwin Foundation, and the Pew Memorial Trust. Rowe has been a fellow at the Olin Institute for Strategic Studies at Harvard University and served as executive director of the Aspen Strategy Group, a policy program of the Aspen Institute regarding U.S. security policy.
