Martha Rouleau was a committed public school science educator and assistant principal in Connecticut for over 31 years as a science and math teacher, department chair, and middle school Assistant Principal before relocating to Virginia in 2018. Trained initially as a marine biologist, Martha’s love of science drew her to explore the field of mindfulness in 2007. Martha holds multiple certifications in both mindfulness and yoga, including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Qualified Teacher, 200-hour yoga instructor, Wellcoaches Certified Health and Well-Being Coach through The National Board for Health and Wellness, and a certified Mindful Grieving Facilitator through the Center for Somatic Grieving.
Currently, Martha serves as an Adjunct Lecturer for Mindfulness Meditation at William & Mary and previously held a similar position at the University of Virginia School of Education and Human Development until 2024. Additionally, she offers support for students, staff, and faculty with resiliency building through varied mindfulness programs. Martha serves as a Well-Being Trainer with the organization Mindful Life-XT/Third Horizon Strategies.
Martha’s passion is to support others through mind/body awareness as they cultivate skills and tools to live a more authentic life with enhanced wellbeing, compassion, and connection to self, others, and life. Above all else, Martha believes in everyone’s innate capacity to tap into their inner compass, with awareness and compassion, as they navigate with focus, clarity, and presence.
