RSO Leader Workshops and Support

Running a Registered Student Organization (RSO) comes with a lot of moving parts—but you don’t have to figure it all out alone! The Student Leadership Development Office (SLD) offers workshops, office hours, and hands-on support to help student leaders navigate organization management, strengthen their leadership skills, and keep their organizations thriving.

Whether you’re updating your constitution, navigating a membership challenge, or looking for ways to make your organization more effective, there’s an opportunity for you!

General Office Hours

Dates: Wednesdays 11-12 PM and Fridays 3-4 on 10/30; 11/6; 11/13, and 11/20

Have a question about running your organization? Stop by for individualized support from SLD! General RSO Office Hours are a space to ask questions, troubleshoot challenges, and get guidance on navigating the ins and outs of RSO leadership.

So You Wanna Kick A Member Out? Office Hours

Dates: October 15 (11-12 PM), October 28 (2-3 PM), November 2 (11-12 PM), and November 17 (2-3 PM), all in the Leadership Lounge (Sadler Center 273)

Membership challenges can be complicated. How do you address a conflict, navigate accountability, or determine the next steps when a member is no longer a good fit for your organization? These specialized office hours provide a space to talk through difficult membership situations and explore appropriate, fair, and policy-aligned approaches.

Bring your questions and work through the situation with support from SLD.

Constitution Review Workshops

Dates: October 28 (1-2 PM, James Room), November 5 (1-2 PM, James Room), and November 16 (4-5 PM, York Room)

Is your RSO constitution up to date? Join a Constitution Review Workshop to review your governing document, clarify organizational expectations, and make sure your constitution reflects how your organization operates.

Bring a copy of your current RSO Constitution to work through section by section!

RSO Boost Sessions

Dates: October 15 (1-2 PM), November 19 (1-2 PM), both in the Leadership Lounge (Sadler 273)

Ready to take your organization to the next level? RSO Boost sessions are interactive workshops designed to help RSO leaders build practical skills, strengthen organizational operations, and set their teams up for success. Bring your executive board, attend with fellow members, or come on your own!

Topics include organization management, event planning and scheduling, funding and resources, recruitment & member engagement, and policies & expectations! Each session focuses on actionable strategies and resources you can bring back to your RSO and put into practice right away!
