Heat Stress & Cold Stress

Working in extreme temperatures (hot or cold) can overwhelm the body's internal temperature control system, especially when not acclimated to working in such an environment. When the body is unable to cool or warm itself, heat or cold-related stress may result. This can lead to adverse health effects that widely range in severity from discomfort to even death. It is important to be aware of your environment and your body in order to avoid adverse effects from extreme temperatures.
