Education Workshops
The Student Center for Inclusive Excellence facilitates discussions and dialogues for William & Mary students and staff. Our Chat & Chew & Culture & Conversations Lecture Series programs are offered multiple times each semester on various topics providing opportunities to foster critical reflection, community building, and self-awareness. Participants may sign up as individuals or groups/organizations. To the greatest extent possible, we try to make the discussions and dialogues accessible to students in the later afternoons, evenings, weekends as to not conflict with class times.
Chat & Chew
Through collaboration with our student staff and ambassadors, we offer Chat & Chew discussions on various topics. These monthly roundtable discussions provide a student group milieu to engage in timely and courageous conversations that explore intersecting identities and hot topics. Often, these workshops are moderated with invited faculty, staff, and other professionals. Some of our past chat Chat & Chew topics include:
- Unraveling Toxic Academia
- Women's Health & Reproductive Justice
- Intersectionality of Neurodiversity and People of Color
Culture & Conversations Lecture Series
The Culture & Conversations Lecture Series is designed to provide co-curricular learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom. By inviting faculty and staff to lead guest lectures and dialogues, the series creates opportunities for students to engage with diverse perspectives, explore complex social and cultural issues, and deepen their understanding of inclusive excellence in practice.
