Service Saturdays

Build community through service

Service Saturdays connect you to local community organizations to complete one-time volunteer projects, learn about the community organization, and build relationships with fellow volunteers. You may register as an individual or as part of a group.

Spring 2024

Each Service Saturday, you can chose from three or more projects, typically for two to three hours each.  Projects are posted in the weeks leading up to each Service Saturday.

FEBRUARY 10 PROJECTS

MARCH 2 PROJECTS

APRIL 6 PROJECTS

Previous Service Saturday projects:
  • Receiving and preparing donation items for re-sale to support affordable housing
  • Construction of storage sheds and fences
  • Trail maintenance projects at local parks
  • Planting, weeding, and harvesting vegetables at a local community garden which aids in combating food insecurity in the community

When participating in a Service Saturday, you will reflect on your experiences, and get a glimpse of what it is like to be involved with more of OCE’s sustained programs such as Branch Out Alternative Breaks, Civic Leadership Program, Education & Youth Development Programs, and Williamsburg Engagement.
