We are those people in Williamsburg!
GSP is an organization where W&M students connect with the Williamsburg community by working in local schools. We serve as active citizens by fostering meaningful relationships. We encourage student confidence in school through academic growth and emotional well-being.
Our students love seeing themselves in their mentors, with a wide range of diversity in majors and interests. GSP provides a fun and refreshing break from school and an opportunity to impact our local community. You will gain valuable life experiences to speak to in job interviews and a fun opportunity to diversify your resume. We have many different offerings within the local school community. We offer transportation to and from your 2-3 hour a week commitment and flexibility in scheduling. The more volunteers we have, the more students we can serve. Add us on TribeLink-- We can’t wait to have you on board!
Griffin School Partnerships (GSP) provides opportunities for W&M students to support Williamsburg-James City County public schools through classroom assistance, after-school academic support, mentoring, and enrichment opportunities. It is built out of the work formerly done by College Partnership for Kids and Project Phoenix over their 20+ year histories.
In addition to partnering with local schools, GSP also fosters a lifelong commitment to education equity among its members. Through opportunities to learn, serve, and reflect, participants gain a deeper understanding of social justice issues in education and their role in addressing them. We invite you to learn more and join us in supporting Williamsburg area students.
