Installing XQuartz on your mac laptop/desktop is simple. Go to the url: https://www.xquartz.org/
Click on the latest version of XQuartz pkg and download. Once downloaded, double click on the downloaded pkg file and install. Once XQuartz is installed, it should automatically start when an X11 program is called from a terminal session.
