Fix Your Content Day

What is Fix Your Content Day (FYCD)?

Fix Your Content Day is a 24-hour, worldwide competition where institutions come together to improve the accessibility of their digital course content using Blackboard Ally. Every fix helps create a more inclusive learning environment for your students, while showcasing William & Mary’s commitment to accessibility.

William & Mary participated in this competition last year, and will be participating this year on Tuesday, November 10, 2026. Visit the leaderboard to track William & Mary’s progress throughout the day.

When does the Fix Your Content Day competition start?

The competition will begin at 12:00 a.m. on November 10, 2026, and end at 11:59 p.m.

What counts as a “fix” in your Blackboard course?

A “fix” occurs when the accessibility score of a file is improved through Blackboard Ally. This could include adding a description to an image directly through Ally or uploading a remediated file through the Ally Instructor Feedback panel that results in an improved score. A file does not have to reach 100% accessibility to be counted as a “fix.” Each “fix” is recorded in the Blackboard Ally database and will be reported in a live leaderboard. Also, all fixes made using the Instructor Feedback for WYSIWYG will contribute to the total number of fixes for your institution.

How do I access the Blackboard Ally Instructor Feedback Panel?

  1. Navigate to your Blackboard course and locate the Details & Actions panel.
  2. Click on Books and Tools.
  3. Select the Accessibility Report LTI 1.3.
  4. Select a file that has an issue to fix.
  5. Use the Instructor Feedback panel to apply fixes.

How can I participate throughout the day?

William & Mary will host a Fix It Lab on November 10, from 9am – 3pm in the Rowland Seminar Room in the Muscarelle Museum.  In addition to the open lab, participants can apply fixes to their content on their own using the Accessibility Report in their Blackboard courses.
