Biography
Ameya Joshi recently graduated from Johns Hopkins SAIS in Washington, DC with a Master’s degree in International Relations, focusing on International Economics and China Studies. His research interests include China’s role in Sovereign Debt Restructurings, and contrasting that with the Paris Club’s approach to restructurings. As part of his capstone thesis, he studied Chinese, and travelled to Taiwan as an official observer for the 2024 Presidential and Legislative Elections, and engaged with diplomatic and trade officials on Taiwan’s economic diversification efforts to invest in South and Southeast Asia. At SAIS, he was also the Vice President of the SAIS International Finance Club and Treasurer of the SAIS Student Government Association (SGA).Before SAIS, Ameya worked in the finance and think tank sectors in India. He graduated from the University of Mumbai in 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He loves Bollywood music and swimming as well as hiking in his free time.
