Chi Omega Fraternity is an intergenerational women’s organization forever committed to our founding
purposes: personal integrity, service to others, academic excellence and intellectual pursuits, community and campus involvement, personal and career development.
Chapter Overview & History
The Omicron Beta Chapter of Chi Omega was chartered at William & Mary in 1921. Founded nationally on April 5, 1895 Chi Omega is a women’s organization built on lifelong sisterhood and personal growth.
The founding members of Omicron Beta gathered under Chi Omega’s six purposes of friendship, personal integrity, service to others, academic excellence, campus involvements, and personal development to create a space where like-minded people could find a community. Flash forward over 100 years, the members of this chapter still fiercely believe in the sanctity of the unity that our fraternity provides and are committed to being trailblazers- just like our chapter's founders. One of our most coveted and prized endeavors is our desire for honest and thoughtful communication. While we joke that Chi O’s never shut up, rooted in that irony is our steadfast commitment to intentional and introspective conversations. Membership in Chi Omega cannot be reduced to a set of meetings and activities. As a sisterhood, we push each other to become the best version of ourselves and to keep our sisters ever at heart.

Member Testimonials
"I did COB my freshman spring semester, and instantly fell in love with Chi O. Upon attending their first open house, it was clear to me that the friendship these girls had was genuine and founded with much love and admiration for one another. I still wonder how I managed to be lucky enough to be invited back and, eventually, offered a membership bid. But my true love for Chi O came to be much later. It comes without saying that Chi O is formed by an exemplary group of hardworking women who are diverse in their passions yet share the common values that make up Chi O; and I’m forever grateful to be surrounded by such worthy people from whom I can continuously learn. I’ve never felt as seen and appreciated as I have in Chi Omega; there, I feel valued, listened to, and most importantly supported. I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason, and the friendships I’ve formed since becoming a Chi O have been strong proof of that.
Chi Omega, I am truly yours forever. " - Catalina Campos ‘27
