Chapter Overview & History

The Beta Delta Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega was chartered at William & Mary on April 8, 1927. Founded nationally on October 15, 1885, Alpha Chi Omega is a women’s fraternity built on lifelong sisterhood and personal growth.

At William & Mary, Alpha Chi Omega fosters a close-knit and supportive community where members are encouraged to pursue their passions across academics, athletics, the arts, student leadership, and service. Guided by the motto “Together let us seek the heights,” the chapter emphasizes unity, celebrating each sister’s achievements and supporting one another through challenges. These shared experiences form deep friendships that extend far beyond college.

Service and advocacy are central to the Alpha Chi Omega experience. Through education, fundraising, and campus engagement, the chapter works to promote healthy relationships and empower survivors of domestic violence, aligning its philanthropic efforts with its mission to build purposeful, compassionate leaders.
