Global Scholars Program

Global, Experiential, Impactful

William & Mary’s Global Scholars Program (GSP) offers a cohort-based, high-impact experiential learning opportunity that prepares students to become creative problem-solvers, principled decision-makers, and engaged global citizens. Designed for students pursuing leadership in global policy, research, and international problem-solving, GSP equips participants for careers across government, nonprofit, and private sectors.

Students choose from two distinct program tracks, allowing them to tailor their experience to their academic interests and career goals. Across both tracks, GSP delivers an immersive, boundary-transcending experience that combines experiential learning with applied coursework in Williamsburg, Washington, D.C., and abroad. Students learn alongside William & Mary faculty, policy practitioners, and external experts throughout a year-long program that bridges theory and real-world impact.

A defining strength of GSP is its tight-knit cohort model, which fosters collaboration, accountability, and lasting professional relationships. Additionally, each participant is paired with a dedicated policy mentor who provides personalized guidance, career insight, and professional support throughout the program.

The GSP cohort becomes a lifelong network, supporting students not only during their time at William & Mary, but throughout their future academic, professional, and global leadership journeys.
