Rebekah O'Dell

Rebekah O’Dell is a Master Teacher with Strategic Cultural Partnerships (SCP) at William & Mary.  

A middle and high school teacher for over two decades, Rebekah is the founder of the Moving Writers Community and the author of four books on writing instruction: Writing With Mentors (Heinemann, 2015), Beyond Literary Analysis(Heinemann, 2018), A Teacher’s Guide to Mentor Texts, 6-12 (Heinemann, 2021), and Mini Moves for Every Writer(Solution Tree, 2025). She is a frequent keynote speaker at national and regional conferences and a consultant for school districts in both the U.S. and Canada. 

She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching and Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Virginia.
