Disclosure of Records Before and After Graduation

After you have graduated from the university: We only disclose records of suspension or dismissal to entities outside the university community. If you have no record of suspension or dismissal, we will respond to inquiries as follows: "We only disclose records of suspension or dismissal post-graduation, and this student was neither suspended nor dismissed.”

While you are still a student at the university: See below for more information regarding whether we disclose records while you are a student and to whom.

Good Griffin Outcomes

Disclosure of Records to Outside Parties: The university does not disclose records resolved under the Good Griffin Policy to parties outside of the university community without your consent.

The "university community" includes Residence Life, Study Abroad/Study Away, Student Orientation, and parents.

Parental Notification of Good Griffin Outcomes: If you have authorized the university to share information concerning student conduct actions with your parent(s) or guardian(s), we will inform any parents/guardians you have designated of the resolution.

Student Conduct and Honor Code Outcomes

The university does not release information regarding incidents without your consent to parties outside of the university community.

The "university community" includes Residence Life, Study Abroad/Study Away, and Student Orientation.

Disclosure of Records of Probation to Outside Parties: If requested by the student (e.g., when a student submits a Dean Certification Request), or if otherwise authorized by FERPA, the university will disclose records of incidents that resulted in Primary Sanctions of Probation, Suspension, Resignation, or Permanent Dismissal (we do not disclose Warnings).

Parental Notification: If you have authorized the university to share information concerning student conduct actions with your parent(s) or guardian(s), we will inform any parents/guardians you have designated of the resolution after the the appeal period has ended.
