Griffin School Partnerships
Remember that person who encouraged your spark when you were a kid?
We are those people in Williamsburg --you can become one!
Griffin School Partnerships (GSP) is a Civic & Community Engagement program and student organization built out of the work formerly done by College Partnership for Kids and Project Phoenix over their 20+ year histories.
Young people in the community are not properly supported with funds, academic support, or social-emotional support in schools. GSP address this lack of academic support that many Williamsburg students face. We help drive their academic success through mentoring, tutoring, and providing a strong support system. By addressing the problem of lack of resources for these students, we are allowing students to achieve greater academic success, in addition to counterbalancing the educational inequities to help those in need.
GSP's purpose is to create an engaging community, distinct from the traditional classroom, where young people can build their confidence, hone their strengths, and overcome their challenges from educational inequities to areas of personal growth. Come and be part of our volunteers who have these opportunities to impact the local community!
With a wide range of majors and interests amongst GSP members, there are many different volunteer offerings within Williamsburg-James City County public schools. We offer transportation to and from your 2-3 hour a week commitment and flexibility in scheduling. The more volunteers we have, the more students we can serve. We can’t wait to have you on board!
