Homecoming & Reunion Weekend 2021 and Commencement for the Class of 2020

Summary

Final Advisory

Full Description

Parking lots on campus will be stressed as we welcome back hundreds of visitors and students. Most of the areas previously announced for set aside are within the F/S allocation. That changes Saturday where football gameday parking will pull in additional resources from the student allocation of lots and will continue into Sunday to support the two graduation ceremonies in the Kaplan Arena.

For Saturday's Game - Saturday Oct 9th Kickoff at 3:30 PM Vs U Albany

The following parking lots and on-street spaces must be vacated by 7:00 AM:

  • Camm Lot,
  • Zable Stadium Lot,
  • Rear Sadler Center Lot,
  • Old Dominion Lot,
  • James Blair lot and signed spaces on James Blair Drive,
  • Yates-Randolph Lot,
  • the Compton Lot,
  • the Kaplan Arena Upper & lower lot,
  • Rear GGV lot and Harrison Ave,
  • the Laycock Center Lot,
  • signed spaces on College Terrace, and Bright St around the Alumni House,
  • Dawson Circle Lot.

The above restriction applies to the entire lot, Vehicles in violation may be ticketed and/or towed at the owner’s expense. Vehicles towed from one of the above mentioned areas will be taken to the School of Ed Lot 4.

This is the only FB home game that we will ask students with Restricted Use Decals to move out of the Kaplan Lots to other areas of campus. Since the demand for parking will carry through the entire weekend we recommend after 5 pm Friday and for the remainder of the weekend relocating to level 2-3 of the W&M Parking Deck on Ukrop Way and remain until at least 5:30 pm Sunday Oct 10th.

To avoid a ticket, relocate your car to an area not reserved for football or any other Homecoming or Graduation event along the southern side of campus, the largest areas not associated with football are the Plant lot, Parking Deck, Boswell lot, and Swem lots. Decals are not enforced during the weekend so you may park in any area not otherwise signed for a special event or reserved for a specific purpose, department, or person. Fire lanes, crosswalks, sidewalks, and grass remain enforced and are always designated no parking zones.

For Sunday's Graduation Ceremonies (9:30 am & 2:30 pm):

All parking lots and spaces in the vicinity of the Kaplan Arena will be set aside for students and guests attending the ceremonies.

The following areas and on-street spaces must be vacated by 6:00 am:

  • The Yates Lot
  • Brooks St from Ukrop to McClurg Dr
  • The Compton Lot
  • The Kaplan Arena Upper & Lower Lot
  • McClurg Dr
  • School of Ed lot 1&2
  • The Parking Deck on Ukrop Way is the designated parking area for anyone remaining  on campus for more than 30 minutes beyond the ceremony time.
