A film crew is on campus this week shooting an independent feature film, “Alone Yet Not Alone.” A family feature film set during the French and Indian War being produced by AYNA, LLC, the movie has been shot at locations across the state, including Jamestown, Yorktown and the several scenes inside and around the Wren Building.
William & Mary was approached in the spring by the Virginia Film Office about accommodating the multi-day shoot.
"Without the superb cooperation and assistance from William & Mary and our colleagues in local government, we would not be able to continue to grow this industry in the Commonwealth. For us, it's all about jobs for Virginians," said Andrew Edmunds, locations manager for the Virginia Film Office.
The College is periodically sought regarding filming opportunities, particularly on the historic campus because of its unique and historic buildings.
“The William & Mary family knows that the Wren is a spectacular building; occasionally film crews discover it too.” said Louise Kale, director of the historic campus.
Most of this week’s filming occurred over fall break to minimize any disruption to students, faculty and staff. The City of Williamsburg also worked with the College and the production company to provide support for the project and limit impact on city residents and businesses.
