Berit Hartjen is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Neuroscience Program. She earned her Dr. rer. nat. (Ph.D. equivalent) in Psychology from Leipzig University in Germany and completed postdoctoral fellowships at Princeton University and Boston Children's Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Her research spans cognitive and developmental cognitive neuroscience, beginning with investigations into the neural correlates of visual attention in adults, and later focusing on neurocognitive development in early childhood. At William & Mary she teaches courses including Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience, Cognitive Psychology, Physiological Psychology, and Statistics.
