Resources and Facilities
The Integrated Science Center (ISC) is home to the Chemistry Department. The ISC provides modern facilities for the study of chemistry. Students also have the opportunity to perform research at NASA-Langley, the Virginia Institute of Marine Science and through the graduate level Applied Science program.
There are sixteen 900 + sq. ft. faculty research labs located in the ISC, as well as a faculty computational lab. All research labs are equipped with various levels of fume hoods, standard laboratory equipment, chemical and solvent storage, computing equipment and private desk space for students.
Instrumentation
The department maintains an excellent collection of modern instrumentation and equipment for research and teaching. In addition to being exposed to a wide variety of instrumentation through the teaching lab curriculum, students conducting research are provided with the necessary training to independently operate virtually any instrument required to conduct their research. The teaching labs are equipped with a wide variety of instrumentation to afford students modern laboratory exercises and techniques. A wide variety of instruments are maintained in individual research labs as well.

Chemistry Reading Room
The Chemistry Reading Room, a satellite of William & Mary Libraries, is housed on the first floor of the Integrated Science Center and provides a comfortable venue for studying with ample table space, study carrels, and a white board.
More than 4,000 monographs and reference collections for the department are maintained in the library by the W&M Libraries staff. Monographs may be checked out of the library, using a WM ID and the self-check station. W&M Libraries provide online access to hundreds of scientific journals accessed through databases linked on their website. Hardcopy journals are housed in Swem Library.
