MEET (Medical Experience and Engagement Talks)

Suture Lab with MEET class and Riverside Emergency MedicineThis weekly virtual course features a different alumni or friend of the university each week, each discussing their medical specialty and the preparation required to reach their current position. Guests include early medical students, MD/PhD candidates, residents, esteemed physicians, biomedical researchers, and professionals who have branched out in unexpected directions.

With guidance from W&M faculty, students prepare for each conversation by reading assigned materials and submitting questions for the guest in advance. A new slate of guests presents each Fall and Spring semester, but the course can only be taken once for credit. Class size is limited to approximately 30 students to maintain an engaging, discussion-based atmosphere, even in a virtual setting.

No application is required; simply register when you sign up for your other classes. This course is best suited for first- or second-year students, as it provides essential guidance for deciding whether a medical career is right for you—and, if so, which path to pursue.
