Who Am I?
I am a North Carolinian! A true one. I was born and raised in North Carolina and a proud graduate of North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University. While I graduated with my degree in Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology, my heart is in Higher Education. In addition to my love for higher ed, I am a huge proponent of college access programming.
Why Admission?
I am currently in a Public Health master's program, where I focus on how educational access and quality programming/resources can positively impact the educational/life outcomes of students. I love being one of the first points of contact for individuals who are looking to pursue postsecondary education and learning more about students while doing so.
Why W&M?
William & Mary is an incredibly intentional institution, with centuries of history to account for why it is. For example, the first time I stepped foot on the campus of William & Mary, the first thing I saw was the "Hearth: Memorial to the Enslaved" memorial. I appreciate(d) this significant initiative that recognizes and honors those who were enslaved by William & Mary. Additionally, those who frequent the campus of W&M (faculty, staff, students, and more!) are so kind and really welcome you to the environment.
Fun Facts:
- I'm left-handed. Great to brag about since there are not many of us, but inconvenient when I'm trying to cut a piece of paper with scissors meant for right-handed people!
- I am the person that will bring up your zodiac sign and tell you about it. Consider it my quirk! (I'm a Virgo, by the way.)
- I am allergic to kiwi, plums, apples, bananas, and other fruits (but I still eat them). *shrug emoji
