Parking for the Wren Chapel

The Sir Christopher Wren Building, in which the Wren Chapel is located, is in the triangular College Yard, or Wren Yard, formed by the junction of Richmond and Jamestown Roads.

Parking spaces are frequently at a premium on the William & Mary campus, and the university cannot guarantee parking for cars of the wedding party or guests. Outside of working hours (after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and on Saturday and Sunday), we recommend that you direct your guests to the Facilities Management Plant Parking Lot behind the Campus Center. Access to this lot is off South Boundary Street, via Grigsby Drive. To get to the Chapel from the Plant Parking Lot walk up the hill (with the Facilities Management building on your left), cross Jamestown Road, and the Wren Building will be straight ahead.

Short-term parking can be found along Richmond Road as well as Scotland and Prince George Streets near the Wren Building. Nearby paid parking is available in the Colonial Williamsburg lot at the corner of Francis and South Boundary Streets and at the Municipal parking garage at 230 North Henry Street.

On the day of your wedding, a few parking spaces will be reserved for your use in Legacy Circle on Jamestown Road adjacent to Jefferson Hall. Please understand, however, that the university does not have weekend staff to enforce these parking reservations, and you may find a reserved space already occupied.

Driving cars, trucks, and vans is strictly prohibited on brick sidewalks and university grounds. Exceptions to this policy will be limited in nature and must be approved in advance by the Executive Director of Historic Campus.
