The Graduate Center, located on campus at the Stetson House, 232 Jamestown Road, offers workshops, discussion groups, and short courses. These programs allow graduate students to refine writing and other communications skills, and explore ways to apply specialized skills in the "real world" environment. The weekly newsletter "Did You Know That?" keeps students informed of these and other resources. The Graduate Student Association is popular and sponsors activities within the A&S graduate student community.
Students preparing for careers as teachers receive training from their home departments, and are invited to attend faculty workshops sponsored by the University Teaching Project. Students also have access to career counseling and planning, job placement, and panels that highlight a range of careers.
