Due to the cancellation of last year's symposium because of Hurricane Florence, the 2019 Annual Symposium for Pilgrimage Studies will repeat the theme "Pilgrimage in the Academy".  

The abstract submission site and registration page are now active and contain additional information!

Featured Speakers
  • Nancy Frey, author of Pilgrim Stories, will present her talk, "Reflections on Helping Pilgrims in the Digital Age" on Friday evening
  • Rebecca Bloom, researcher of Buddhist pilgrimage and pedagogy, will present her talk, "Hyecho's Journey: Pilgrimage as Pedagogy" on Saturday evening

*Important note: This year the symposium will be held on Friday and Saturday.  Check-in will begin at noon on Friday, with the first sessions beginning at 1:00pm.  The Symposium will end with the closing banquet on Saturday evening.
