Lindsay Blount, Ed.D., '24 is a nationally recognized military spouse leader, higher education strategist, and passionate advocate for military-connected families. As the Program and Business Manager for Military & Veteran Affairs at William & Mary, she supports high-impact initiatives that empower veterans, service members, and military spouses to navigate transitions with confidence, clarity, and purpose.

A proud Air Force spouse, Lindsay has spent almost two decades balancing the challenges of military life while advancing a career rooted in service and systems change. Her doctoral research at William & Mary focused on military-to-civilian transition, with an emphasis on how institutional partnerships and holistic support models can better serve those leaving the military. That research—and her own lived experience—now fuels her latest mission: to center and champion the entire military connected community- whose journeys too often go unrecognized in conversations around transition, identity, and economic opportunity.

In 2023, Lindsay was featured on the cover of Military Spouse magazine in recognition of her leadership in higher education and her commitment to advancing opportunities for military spouses. Her work continues to shine a spotlight on the value, talent, and potential within the military spouse community—bringing national attention to the need for stronger support, greater visibility, and more inclusive policies that reflect the realities of modern military family life.

At William & Mary, Lindsay also serves as Secretary of the Military & Veterans Advisory Group, working closely with Chancellor Robert M. Gates and senior leadership to shape institutional strategy and strengthen support for military-affiliated students. Lindsay continues to serve as a speaker, mentor, and thought partner on military connected leadership, transition equity, and the power of community-led change. Whether she’s organizing large-scale events or advocating one-on-one, her work is grounded in the belief that the military connected community is not just resilient—they are leaders in their own right.

Lindsay earned a B.A. in English Literature from UMass Lowell, an M.A. in English Literature from Boston University, and an Ed.D. in Higher Education Policy, Planning, and Leadership from William & Mary in 2024.

Lindsay lives in Williamsburg, VA with her husband, Lt Col Blount, and their two daughters, Caroline and Chloe.
