Styling Images

Images in Cascade can be displayed in a variety of ways using the Styles dropdown in the editor. For example, you can align an image to the left or right, or add a caption, by applying the appropriate style. If you later decide to use a different style, there's one important thing to know: selecting a new style doesn't replace the old one—it adds the new style alongside it. This can lead to unexpected formatting on the published page.

To apply a different image style correctly:

  1. Select the image in the editor.
  2. Click the Remove Formatting button (the white eraser icon) to clear any existing styles.
  3. Select the image style you want from the Styles dropdown.
  4. Preview or publish the page to confirm the result.

Removing the existing formatting before applying a new style ensures that only the style you want is applied to the image.

Tip: If an image doesn't look the way you expect after changing its style, it's often because multiple styles have been applied. Clearing the formatting and applying the style again usually resolves the issue.
