Mary Trimble

Communications Manager

Office: The Hive, Ground Floor, Swem Library
Email: [[matrimble]]
Phone Number: 757-206-4481

Mary leads communications for the Global Research Institute at William & Mary, where she connects GRI's researchers to the audiences who need to understand their work, from journalists and policymakers, to donors and the broader public. In a role that spans media relations, research translation, and digital storytelling, she works closely with faculty and research teams across GRI's portfolio to increase the reach and visibility of world-changing research.

Mary comes to the GRI from Washington, D.C., where she spent several years translating the views of experts as a journalist and a geopolitical risk consultant. She has a B.A. in French and Francophone Studies and European Studies from William & Mary. She studied abroad in Paris at Sciences Po, where she completed a thesis on French nuclear history. As an undergrad at W&M, she was a proud GRI kid who spent as much time as she could eating free food from the Institute.

Mary enjoys attending concerts, traveling, watching any and all live sports, and racing to finish her library books before her third—or, let's be honest, fourth or fifth—loan renewal expires.
