Botetourt Chamber Singers Honored

Botetourt Chamber SingersThe Botetourt Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dr. Jamie C. Bartlett, was selected to perform at the Virginia Music Educators Convention on November 16 in Norfolk.

The Bots were chosen from a pool of statewide College and University applicants by a panel of judges who adjudicated anonymous CDs .  This is the second time the Bots have been chosen to represent the College of William and Mary at the annual convention.

The Botetourt Chamber Singers performs in Williamsburg for such popular events as Grand Illumination and frequently can be heard caroling in Colonial Williamsburg at Christmastime. They are active on campus, singing for many W&M sponsored events as well as private occasions both on and off campus. In the summer of 2008 the group will embark on a three-week tour of Spain, Portugal and Morocco. The ensemble sings a wide variety of choral literature from the Renaissance through contemporary music, including a full concert of jazz and Broadway standards at their annual Gala Concert Fundraiser in the Kimball Theater. This years’ Gala will be held on February 2, 2008.  Last winter the ensemble released a CD of Christmas Music entitled “All My Heart This Night Rejoices” which is available for $10.00.
