Campus Nomination & Submission Process

OverviewAll applicants seeking a W&M endorsement must complete the following steps:
  • Campus Deadline: Upload a completed application to the Fulbright portal by 11:59 pm EST on Sunday, August 30th
  • Final Submission Deadline: Upload a final application to the Fulbright portal by 11:59 pm EST on Sunday, October 4th

The application is accessed, edited, and submitted via the Fulbright’s online application portal.

Your Fulbright application, including all supporting materials (such as letters of recommendation and foreign language evaluations) must be uploaded by the campus deadline.

Reminder: It is your responsibility to tell your recommendation writers that they will have to upload their letters to the Fulbright portal by the campus deadline of August 30. Guidance for study/research recommendation writers and for ETA recommendation writers is available on Fulbright's website.

Applicants who meet the campus deadline will participate in a campus interview to receive feedback on their application materials. This interview will also help us prepare a W&M endorsement letter that will be attached to your application. Interviews will take place during the month of September.

You will be able to edit your application materials after your campus interview and before the final submission deadline. We will unlock your application in the Fulbright system after you have completed your campus interview. You must upload your revised application to the Fulbright portal by the final submission deadline on Sunday, October 4th by 11:59 pm Eastern.
