Linking to a Document in a Page

  1. Edit the page and highlight the text you want to hyperlink.
    • As detailed in the Writing & Style Guide, do not link phrases such as "here" or "click here" — instead use a meaningful phrase that indicates the file you are linking to.
    • Be sure to let visitors know the type of file they are going to open or download when clicking your document link. Do this by adding the file extension in parenthesis after the link, such as (pdf) or (doc).
  2. Click the Insert/edit link button (chain link icon)
  3. Select your link source:
    • Check "Internal" as your link source if the file is uploaded to Cascade
    • Check "External" if the link is not stored in Cascade.
  4. For internal links, click "Choose File, Page or Link" to browse and choose the desired file.
  5. For external links, fill in the file's URL beginning with "https://".
  6. Click OK to complete the link creation.
