GRI Post-Doctoral Program

The GRI Post-Doctoral Program offers opportunities for early-career scholars who seek to produce applied research on pressing global issues. Fellows generally spend two or more years in-residence researching, writing, and teaching in their area of specialization. They work closely with one or more GRI’s research labs and join its vibrant intellectual community, one that values innovation, fun, and an eagerness to take big swings at important research questions.

With its post-doctoral program, GRI seeks to attract high-quality researchers, act on its commitment to diversity in all its forms, and provide mentored research opportunities to undergraduate students, especially those from under-represented groups. As part of a GRI post-doctoral curriculum, fellows hone important career skills, which include grant writing, teaching, and publishing. Fellows work closely with at least one designated mentor during their time at GRI and have opportunities to collaborate with peers across disciplines. Fellows have gone on to hold tenure-track positions at leading institutions.
