Brass Ensemble

Director: [[jgstone, Gabe Stone]]

About Brass Ensemble

Musicians play trumpet, horn, trombone, bass trombone, euphonium, and tuba as well as specialty instruments such as flugelhorn, cornet, eb, and piccolo trumpets.  In addition to the standary modern instruments, members have the opportunity to perform on Civil War era style Over-the-Shoulder saxhorns, and other antique instruments to form a 19th century band.

Literature ranges from masterworks of the renaissance and baroque to jazz and contemporary classical brass ensemble compositions.

The Brass Ensemble plays at least once concert per sememster with the opportunity for off campus performances as either a modern or historic ensemble.  Membership does not require an audition.  Please contact J. Gabriel Stone for information.
