Environmental Science and Policy

Environmentally-focused faculty and students, representing every unit and school in the College, have put together one of the most innovative and integrative environmental programs in the nation. Our undergraduate program offers integrative courses at every level from our freshman core course (ENSP101) to multidisciplinary sophomore courses (ENSP200-249) and discussion seminars focused on global environmental topics (ENSP250); all the way through to hands-on, applied capstone seminars (ENSP440) and research experiences (ENSP490). Throughout the curriculum, we stress the importance of integrating knowledge and skills from the natural, physical, social sciences, and humanities to solve current environmental problems within ethical, economic, and politically-realistic frameworks.

To subscribe to our weekly e-announcements, which include details of environmental events and opportunities, please send your email address to the program Director, Andy Fisher.  Additionally, you can join our growing community online by subscribing to our Facebook group "William and Mary - Friends of the Environment".
