W&M Sponsored Semester Programs

An immersive experience.

W&M has built special relationships with four different international institutions where we offer Sponsored Semester Programs. These programs are intentional in providing an immersive experience for students. For one fixed price and, in several cases, receiving W&M credit (see program pages for details), W&M students can study for a semester at one of the following locations:

La Plata, Argentina: Universidad Nacional de La Plata Take courses and intern with the Comision Provincial por la Memoria, an Argentine human-rights NGO, along with additional classes at UNLP
Oxford, England: Hertford College, University of Oxford Live at Hertford College and take courses in the classic Oxford tutorial style
Montpellier, France: Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier III Immersive French-language learning
Sevilla, Spain: Universidad Pablo de Olavide Courses with Centro MungoLengua and UPO

Why participate on a W&M Sponsored Semester Program? Programs tailored to an overall W&M experience, with each program having a W&M faculty member liaison for the program, and receive high level of support from W&M. Several programs provide direct credit options (Seville and LaPlata) Build community with other W&M students, while taking courses at a foreign university, and provide an opportunity to learn about different academic systems. Experience a new and different living/learning environment where students have the opportunity to have an immersive experience by living with a host family, or at Oxford, living in single room accommodations on campus. Courses taken at any Sponsored Semester location will fulfill COLL 300 requirements, provided students receive a C or better. Students on these programs can also apply for a Reves Center Semester Scholarship.
