Community Partnerships

At W&M, community engagement is collective action that occurs through partnerships between campus and community members. Those partnerships involve sharing resources and knowledge so that all parties are changed in their work toward a more just and sustainable community. Partnerships have varying depths and time frames. Successful partnerships are characterized by closeness, equity, and integrity (Bringle, Clayton, & Price, 2009).

To reach our goals of expanding and deepening partnerships with community members and organizations, we have created a searchable resource on W&M GivePulse listing current and sought campus-community partnerships. Those currently engaged in partnerships may highlight their work, and those seeking to develop research, outreach, volunteer, or community-based learning projects may propose them here.

This resource will allow those who share interests to connect with one another and amplify their work toward justice, equity, and community-driven goals.
